About Hendersonville - Recreation

Hendersonville’s moderate year round climate creates a golfers paradise. There are several courses for all levels of play from short par three courses to challenging, nationally acclaimed championship courses. For a list of golf course communities in WNC, click here.

Hendersonville and Henderson County are home to many parks and sports facilities offering a variety of special events, programs, and athletic opportunities. These areas support many greenways for walking, hiking and biking.

Not far outside the county line, lie many recreational activities such as the DuPont State Forest stretching from Rich Mountain in Transylvania County to Stone Mountain in Henderson County. The DuPont State Forest is 10,400 acres featuring three remarkable waterfalls; Hooker Falls, Triple Falls, and High Falls.  All of these waterfalls can be seen as you follow the 2 hour walk along the Little River.
